How to Turn On Desktop Notifications for New Messages & Mentions

Never miss an important message or mention again! With desktop notifications, you’ll get a pop-up on your computer whenever:

  • A new message comes in

  • You’re mentioned by a teammate

For the best experience, we recommend using desktop notifications with the LeadSimple Chrome Extension.

With the extension installed, you’ll still receive notifications for new messages and mentions even if you don’t have app.leadsimple.com open in a tab. It runs quietly in the background so you never miss a thing.

Step 1: Enable desktop notifications in LeadSimple

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select Your User Profile

  3. Find the Notifications Section

  4. Toggle On “Enable Desktop Notifications

Step 2: Enable Notifications in Chrome

If you’re using Google Chrome, you also need to make sure the browser is allowed to show notifications:

  1. Under "Allowed to send notifications," make sure your LeadSimple site is listed.

    • If not, scroll down to "Not allowed to send notifications"

    • OR simply click the three dots beside the LeadSimple URL → Allow

Step 3: Give Chrome Permission on Your Computer

On a Mac:

  1. Open System Settings

  2. Go to Notifications

  3. Find and select Google Chrome

  4. Make sure “Allow Notifications” is turned on

On a PC (Windows):

  1. Open the Start Menu → Go to Settings

  2. Select SystemNotifications

  3. Scroll down to Google Chrome and make sure it's set to On

Troubleshooting:

Toggling on "Enable Desktop Notifications" should immediately trigger a desktop notification with the message "Notifications are enabled!". If it doesn't:

  1. Run through Step 2: Enable Notifications in Chrome;

  2. Then run through Step 3: Give Chrome Permission on Your Computer;

  3. Then Toggle Off and On “Enable Desktop Notifications”, and it should trigger the notification.
