Add an E-signature step when a workflow should automatically send a document for signature.
Before you add the step
Create a ready E-Sign Template in Signatures > Templates.
Confirm the template has signer roles for everyone who needs to sign.
Confirm the workflow has the contact roles, pipeline signer roles, assignee roles, or users you want to map to those signer roles.
Add the workflow step
Open the pipeline or process type workflow editor.
Add a new step and choose E-signature.
Open Configure E-Signature.
Set Document Source to Document template.
Choose a ready Document Template.
Map signer routing
Each signer role from the template must be mapped before the step can send.
For process workflows, map signer roles to process contact roles, assignee roles, or users.
For pipeline workflows, map signer roles to pipeline signer roles, assignee roles, or users.
Use the Order field to control signing order. Signers with a later order wait until earlier signers complete.
For pipeline workflows, you can create a pipeline signer role from the signer dropdown when needed.
Map fields
If the template includes fillable fields that LeadSimple should complete, use Field Mapping to connect each document field to a LeadSimple merge tag.
Mapped fields are prefilled when the request sends.
Use Lock when the signer should not edit a prefilled value.
Unmapped fields are completed by the signer.
If a mapped required field is blank, LeadSimple blocks the send so you can fix the missing value.
Save the step
Select Save E-Signature Step. The step is ready when every signer role is mapped and the selected template is ready.
E-signature steps always send automatically and always wait for completion before the workflow advances.
