If an e-signature request does not send or a workflow step is not ready, use this checklist to find the issue.
I do not see Signatures in LeadSimple
E-Signatures must be enabled for your account. If you do not see Signatures in the left navigation, contact your account admin or LeadSimple Support.
A template cannot be selected in a workflow step
Open Signatures > Templates.
Confirm the template shows Ready to use.
If it shows Needs setup, open Builder, add the required signer fields, save, and close the builder.
If it shows Needs attention, open the builder and save again. Contact Support if the error remains.
Save E-Signature Step is disabled
The step cannot be saved until it has a ready template and every signer role is mapped.
Select a ready document template.
Map every signer role in Signer Routing.
Use a unique signing order for each signer role.
For pipeline workflows, create or select the needed pipeline signer roles.
The request did not send
E-signature tasks send automatically. If the request did not send, check these items:
The workflow is active, not in draft mode.
The task due date has arrived.
The task is set to send automatically.
The task assignee or workflow owner has a connected email account.
Every signer role resolves to exactly one signer.
Every signer has an email address.
Any required mapped fields have values.
A signer role does not resolve
LeadSimple must find exactly one signer for each role.
For process workflows, confirm the process has exactly one contact for each mapped contact role.
For pipeline workflows, open Assign Signer Roles on the e-signature task and choose one deal contact for each role.
If an internal assignee role is used, confirm the role resolves to one user on that workflow.
Confirm the selected contact or user has an email address.
A field shows Required blank
A required document field is mapped to a LeadSimple merge tag, but that merge tag is blank for this task.
Add the missing value to the deal, process, contact, property, unit, lease, or user record.
Change the field mapping to a merge tag that has a value.
Remove the mapping and let the signer fill the field, if that is acceptable.
Make the field optional in the template builder if it should not block sending.
A signer says the link is waiting on another signer
The document uses signing order. The signer will receive an email when all earlier signers have completed their signatures.
A signer says the link is no longer available
The request may already be completed, declined, expired, or failed. Open Signatures > Documents to check the request status.
The signed PDF is not available yet
If the request status is Completion processing, LeadSimple is still saving the completed PDF. Check again shortly. If it stays in this state, contact Support.
What to send Support
If you contact LeadSimple Support, include the document name, the deal or process name, the workflow task due date, the signer role that failed, and any error message shown on the task or Signatures page.
