"Call Failed" Error on iPhone (CallKit Error)

How to fix the com.apple.CallKit.error.requesttransaction error when making calls from the LeadSimple mobile app.

Written by Jheanelle Lewis

If you're seeing the following error when trying to make a call from the LeadSimple mobile app on iPhone:

"Call failed: The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.CallKit.error.requesttransaction error 2.)"

This error comes from Apple's calling system (CallKit), not LeadSimple itself. It typically happens when iOS thinks there is already a call in progress or a stuck call state, which prevents a new call from starting. The good news is it's usually resolved with a few quick steps.

How to Fix It

  1. Force quit the LeadSimple app — Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to open the app switcher, then swipe LeadSimple away to close it completely.

  2. Check for any active calls — Make sure there are no calls in progress on your phone, including FaceTime or any other VoIP apps (e.g. Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp). End any active calls before trying again.

  3. Restart your iPhone — A full restart clears any stuck call states that iOS may be holding onto.

  4. Reopen LeadSimple and try your call again — Once your phone is back on, open the app and attempt the call.

These steps resolve the issue in most cases. If the error continues after trying all of the above, please reach out to our support team and let us know:
