First, let's discuss the types of stages for both pipelines and processes.
Stage Status Categories/Types for Sales Pipelines
LeadSimple divides pipeline workflows into six different categories. Example screenshots are from a Prospective Owners pipeline.
Potential Stages: For leads who have expressed some interest but aren't seriously looking to buy yet.
Prospective Stages: For leads who are seriously looking to buy.
Current Stages: For leads who have converted to paying clients.
Past Stages: For clients who were paying previously but are no longer working with you.
Lost Stages: For leads who expressed interest but decided not to buy.
Invalid Stages: For leads who are spam or otherwise unqualified in some way.

Backlog Stages: For processes that are coming up, but aren't quite ready to start working on.
Active Stages: For processes that you are actively working on.
