If you created a stage in the wrong stage type or you think one of your blue Potential Stages is better off in the Prospective Stages category, there's an easy way to change this.

First, let's discuss the types of stages for both pipelines and processes.

Stage Status Categories/Types for Sales Pipelines

LeadSimple divides pipeline workflows into six different categories. Example screenshots are from a Prospective Owners pipeline.

  1. Potential Stages: For leads who have expressed some interest but aren't seriously looking to buy yet.

  2. Prospective Stages: For leads who are seriously looking to buy.

  3. Current Stages: For leads who have converted to paying clients.

  4. Past Stages: For clients who were paying previously but are no longer working with you.

  5. Lost Stages: For leads who expressed interest but decided not to buy.

  6. Invalid Stages: For leads who are spam or otherwise unqualified in some way.

Stage Status Categories/Types for Operational Processes

LeadSimple divides process workflows into four different categories. Example screenshots are from a Lease Renewals process.

  1. Backlog Stages: For processes that are coming up, but aren't quite ready to start working on.

  2. Active Stages: For processes that you are actively working on.

  3. Completed Stages: For processes you've finished working on.

  4. Canceled Stages: For processes that were canceled or not completed.

Now that we have a basic understanding of the types of stages for pipelines and processes, let's review how to move a stage to another category.
