Process Types are broken down further into Stages and Steps.

Stages are the major milestones, or phases of the process, helping you categorize how far along the process is. Stages also help define the different paths a process can take (like this example of a lease renewal process):

And finally, within each stage are the steps of the process, or the actual tasks that need to be done to move through the stages and complete the process.

Too complicated? 😉 Just remember, processes have stages and steps.
