This article explains how to add and manage property groups manually for accounts using our PMSync integration with other property management softwares.

If you are using one of our direct PMS integrations, check out this article instead.

Once you've completed the steps below, move on to Step 2 to set up your team auto-assignment based on property groups!

How to add property groups manually

If you are using our direct integration our PMSync integrations with AppFolio, Buildium, PropertyWare, Rent Manager, or RentVine, your property groups will not sync automatically to LeadSimple and you will need to add them manually.

If you are using one of our direct integrations, check out this article instead.

To add a property group to your LeadSimple account manually, click Settings > Property Groups in the lefthand sidebar in LeadSimple. (If you do not see this option, it is because you are not an admin. Only users with admin status can access this page.)

Click "Add Property Group" and give your property group a name. This can be edited later.

Go on and add all the property groups you need.

How to add properties to property groups

Now that you've added property groups, you'll need to add properties to the groups. You can do this in bulk from the Property page in LeadSimple or update an individual property in the property details.

To update a single property manually, edit the property details on that property.

To update the properties in bulk, click "Properties" in the lefthand sidebar in LeadSimple.

From the list, select the properties you want to add to a group by clicking the checkbox.

A bulk action menu bar will appear. Click "Assign/Remove Property Groups".

Select the property group(s) you want to add the properties to. (Note that you will not be able to add or remove properties to or from a property group synced from your property management software.)

You can also add filters to the list to make it easier to narrow down the list.

You can also bulk remove properties from a property group from this page.

How to rename or delete property groups manually

To rename a property group, navigate to the property groups page (Settings > Property Groups). Then click on the property group to rename it. (Note that you cannot rename property groups synced from your property management software.)

To delete a group, hover over it and click the trash can icon on the far right. If you delete a property group, note that the properties in that group will not be deleted.

Or select multiple groups and click "Delete".

Now you're ready to move on to Step 2!
