Using the "Away" Toggle

The Away Toggle lets you step away from Inbox without worrying about new conversations being assigned to you.

When you turn Away on:

  • You will not be auto-assigned to any new threads; if a thread comes into a shared email address (like info@ or leasing@) that has an active auto-assignment rule, Inbox will skip you when assigning responses.

  • You will not be assigned to the responses of any threads from shared emails which were previously assigned to you.

When you turn Away off:

  • You’ll rejoin the auto-assignment rotation.

  • Inbox will begin assigning you new conversations and responses again.

When to Use Away

  • You’re on vacation, out sick, or unavailable.

  • You need focused time to work without new conversations being assigned.

  • You’re stepping out temporarily and don’t want replies routed to you.

How to Turn Away On or Off

  1. Click on Inbox or Phone in the nav

  2. Toggle Away on to pause assignments

  3. Toggle Away off when you’re ready to rejoin the rotation

✅ Tip: Remember to turn Away off when you’re back — otherwise you won’t receive new assignments!
