Google Groups can be configured as separate inboxes within LeadSimple. However, since Google Groups are not actual email addresses, Google requires each Group to be associated with at least one active email address. To add a Google Group to your LeadSimple Inbox, you need to associate it with a real email address.

Important Notes Before You Begin:

  • Throughout this article, we will refer to both “email address” and “Google Group” address. These are not the same thing. An email address refers to a real email, while a Google Group address is the address for the Group you created.

  • You must create the Google Group in Google before configuring it in LeadSimple Inbox. Ensure your Google Group is set up by following the relevant Google support documentation.

  • Connecting a Google Group to LeadSimple does not automatically connect the associated email address. You need to add the email address separately.

  • You can associate multiple Google Group addresses with a single email address.

Steps to Add a Google Group to LeadSimple Inbox:

  1. Go to Inbox
Access your LeadSimple Inbox to begin configuration.

  2. Open Settings
Click the gear icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select the Associated Email Address
Choose the real email address linked to the Google Group, either as a direct or shared account. If it’s not connected yet, click “Add Email Account” to connect the email address. (Do not add the Google Group address at this step.)

  4. Modify Email Settings
Once the email is connected, click the settings icon next to it.

  5. Configure the Alias
In the “From Alias and From Name” dropdown, replace the email address with the Google Group address.

  6. Adjust Email Syncing
Open the “Email Syncing” dropdown and enable “Only sync emails from specific aliases.”

  7. Whitelist the Google Group Address
In the “Whitelisted Alias” section under “Email Syncing,” enter the Google Group address.

  8. Confirm Matching Addresses
Ensure the Google Group address is identical in both the “From Alias and From Name” section and the “Whitelisted Alias” section.

  9. Add the Original Email Address (Optional)
If you also want the original email address associated with the Google Group to be connected to LeadSimple, click “Add Email Account” again and add it as a separate inbox.

Final Recommendation: We strongly recommend working with a LeadSimple support team member to ensure your Google Group is configured correctly within LeadSimple.
