You can purchase phone numbers through LeadSimple to use:

  • To text through LeadSimple

  • To track and record all outbound and inbound calls in LeadSimple

Note that you can make outbound calls without getting a LeadSimple phone number; however, you will not be able to track any inbound calls on your leads and processes without a LeadSimple number.

Also note that texting in LeadSimple requires a LeadSimple phone number and an approved Texting Business Registration.

Phone Number FAQs

1. How many LeadSimple phone numbers can I provision?

As many as you need! You can assign each number to one or more users and easily change the assigned users at any time.

2. Are the numbers short form (XXXXX) or long form (XXX-XXX-XXXX)?

Our phone numbers are all long form numbers.

3. Can the phone numbers be in specific area codes?

Yes - phone numbers can be in specific area codes. Just search for your desired area code.

(Some area codes may not be available - if you don't see the code you need check with us at support@leadsimple.com and we'll ask our phone provider to see if there are more numbers available for you.)

4. What is the cost to provision a phone number? What about call minutes and texts?

Each phone number costs $4/month. Call minutes are 5¢ each and texts are 2.5¢ each. Each of our plans include a certain number of call minutes and text messages per month so check your billing page for more details!

Also note that texting requires a one time $19 fee for texting business registration charged by the cell carriers and a monthly $1.50 campaign maintenance fee.

5. How does calling in LeadSimple work?

Steps to Provision a Phone Number

1. Navigate to Settings, then Texting & Inbound Calling:

2. Click Provision Phone Number:

3. Choose the type of phone number. An Agent Number can only be assigned to one user while a Shared Number can be assigned to multiple users and also be assigned to a specific lead source (if used for a marketing campaign).

Note that if you choose a Shared Number, you will need to add a source to the pipeline you select before you will be able to provision the number.

4. Search for a number by area code and select a number. You'll want a number that's local to your business:

5. Next, assign the number to a user. It will also ask you to select the pipeline LeadSimple should create a new lead in if an unrecognized phone number calls this number:

6. Click "Provision Number" to save the number to your account:

The phone number table will display the call minutes and text messages for each number. You can filter this data by some preset time frames using the dropdown button in the top left.

You now have your LeadSimple number! You can learn more about how calling in LeadSimple works in this article and how texting works in this article.

(You can also make changes to the settings you just set up as well as set up a custom voicemail greeting or ring tone by clicking the Actions menu on the far right of the phone number):

A note about call notifications about new leads:

When a new lead comes in and LeadSimple calls you about the lead, and you press 1 to call the lead right away, LeadSimple first checks to see if you have any LeadSimple phone numbers. If you do, it will use that number as the caller ID the lead will see. If you have multiple, it will choose the number with the area code closest to the lead's area code. If you do not have any LeadSimple numbers, it will use your default company line (if you've added one), and finally fall back on your actual phone number as the caller ID.
